One site has been identified in a possible Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment in Trinity Ward. This is the site of the current Hooke Farm Caravan Site on Gore Lane in Uplyme.
The site has an area of 3.94 Hectares and the judging panel have suggested a development ‘yield’ of between 25 and 35 houses. The site has been judged by the panel to be ‘Suitable’, ‘Available’ and ‘Achievable’ and potentially scheduled for the majority of houses being finished in 2015/6 and the remainder in 2016/7.
The relatively low housing density in terms of houses/hectare, reflects the poor nature of the junction with the main Uplyme Road near to the Talbot public house.
It must be stressed that identification of this site does NOT mean the site will be developed for residential or other purpose, nor is identification a method of ‘short circuiting’ the normal planning process. This information does however form a part of the Local Development Framework evidence bases.
