Axmouth Parish Council wished a very fond farewell to two of its long serving Councillors at its meeting on April 20th. Councillors Bernard Dunford and Dennis Hall decided not to stand again at the May elections.
Cllr Dunford has been on the Parish Council for 15 years and has been the eyes and ears of the Council on the Seaton Regeneration Board and the Tourist Information Centre.
Cllr Hall has served for 11 years and was Chairman from 2002 to 2010. His leadership in defending the Parish against HGV traffic has been very important. His time as Chairman also saw the installation of the information boards and development of the Parish Plan and village website. Both said how much they had enjoyed their time on Council and working with the other Councillors.
Cllr Carol Rapley, the present Chairman, thanked both for their tireless work on behalf of the Axmouth and presented Cllr Hall with an engraved crystal decanter and bottle of wine and Cllr Dunford with crystal champagne flutes and bottle of champagne.
