Axmouth Parish Council

Axmouth Parish Council with MP Neil Parish and Cllr Ian ThomasAxmouth Parish Council is consulted over local planning applications; and can inform the planning authority (East Devon District Council) of views in Axmouth.

The Parish Council can also pass on information or concerns over matters such as refuse collection, highway maintenance, traffic and transport, and policing, to either Devon County Council or East Devon District Council as appropriate. As Trinity Ward District Councillor, representing Axmouth, I attend Parish Council meetings and ensure that the Parish Council is fully informed about EDDC activities which might affect the lives of Axmouth residents and businesses.

The Parish Council is funded through a Precept, collected on behalf of the Parish Council by EDDC.

From this the Parish Council pays a part-time clerk and supports a number of community organisations including the playground, the Church and a future burial ground. They also maintain a number of benches and noticeboards in the parish, ensure footpaths and bridleways are in good order and that the brook is kept clear.
